LOL @ Teh Cops

Posted by The Gimcracker in Gimcrackery on 04. Feb, 2008 | Comments

What if a professional stunt driver was being pursued by the cops? It would probably be something like this. I wonder if the guy in the car giggled just a bit each time he escaped.

The Stupidest Thing That Has Ever Happened

Posted by The Gimcracker in Gimcrackery, ROFL on 22. Jan, 2008 | Comments

One of the things that is wrong with this world is people who are incapable of thinking outside the box. Some call this a lack of common sense. When discussing this topic, I like to refer to Mark 2:27 in which Jesus says to the Pharisees, “The sabbath was made for man, and not man [...]

Hey, retired AOL using grandmas of the world. If you get this email, delete it immediately:

Now that we’ve established the true point of this post, let’s delve into the grand gorge of gimcrack and discuss it for a bit.

AJAX Your Existing ASP.NET 2.0 App

Posted by The Gimcracker in Gimcrackery on 08. Nov, 2007 | Comments

The Intarwebs are scary. Especially when they gots AJAX on them. Cuz it’s hard to get them out.
There are so many elements that go into an ASP.NET 2.0 AJAX website: assemblies, controls, the script manager and whatnot. Don’t fret. I found a great reference for AJAX-enabling your existing ASP.NET 2.0 applications.
I’ve been developing a project [...]

Finally, no more right-click Task Bar, select Toolbars, and uncheck The Language Bar every time I login to my Windows XP machine. I found a post about how to do this, and I’ll conveniently list the steps for you below:

1. Click the Start Button.
2. Select Control Panel option.
3. Double-Click the Regional and Language Options icon.
4. [...]

It’s not like I’m just now realizing it. I’ve been emailing, texting, and talking this way for quite a while, especially amongst my geek [...]

How To Easily Center A Web Page

Posted by The Gimcracker in Gimcrackery on 13. Aug, 2007 | Comments

I used to try all kinds of sizing techniques and non-xhtml compliant methods. I tried absolutely positioning a div tag by giving it a left:20% and right:20% attribute, but this didn’t work in all browsers (I’m looking your direction, IE). I tried wrapping the whole div tag in a ‘center’ element, but we won’t even [...]

You made it to the third set of widgets on my widget slider sidebar mechanism. There are only two reasons you could end up here: 1) because you are so into TGM that you read every word on every page, or 2) because you are trying to find something incriminating so you can hurt my reputation because I have offended you in some way (you're probably a Twitter fan boy or a Multigrain Cheerios lover). If you are here because of #2 and you want a bit of juicy gossip then here you go: I used to steal candy bars from the gift shop I worked at in the airport when I was 17 because they forged my time card to have less hours than I really worked. There's a slight chance that if you really put your mind to it and told the right people you could somehow hurt my reputation. At least I'll know that if I get a notice of a lawsuit in the mail regarding this matter that there was at least one person out there reading my blog :)
